I forgot I was in Oakland and thought I was in LA because someone talked about La?

Everyone totally acted like it was nothing but afterwards they said I was crazy. It's like I was only disoriented for a moment because I was in Oakland attenting a party with people I just met and I was in a similar situation a week earlier in LA. Both situations where awkwad because I was forced into going without much regard for the fact I had no business there. It's like the people I just met got a really bad first impression of me. I was only disoriented for a second. I even became the life of the party because of what an embarrassment I was and how people somehow found that amusing.

Update:

Where not from oakland, we had traveled to oakland from sacramento

No biggie. You just got confused for a moment - you said it yourself.

Lighten up, it's understandable. I don't think anyone thought you were crazy because of that. If they did, they're not that smart. Most likely, they were purposely over critical at your own expense - to get a laugh out of it, refusing to think about it logically. Either way, you wanna surround yourself with people like that? Or most importantly, care about what they think?
