Tow truck driver was an idiot, your car is most likely a GM product that uses a type 78 battery with the posts on the side, the chimp in the truck obviously dident know what the funny looking clamps on his jumper cables were for, if it were me I'd call his boss and get him fired,

Many late model cars have the battery covered just so people won't blow themselves up. In those designs, the manufacturers locate a positive terminal in a spot away from the battery. The AAA guy connects one jumper to that post and the other to any metal ground. Obviously your driver isn't up to speed on late model cars. Call them again and ask them to send someone more qualified.

There are side posts on some cars. And all the guy had to do was jump the cables to these and start his car and let it run for about 10 minutes to recharge your enough to get it to start.

But, what make, model and year is this car?

If it is a side post battery, remove the bolts on the side cables and the hold down blots and lift it out. It is that easy.

If there are no connections on the top of the car's battery, then they are on the side of the battery. A battery charger would connect to a side post battery the same way as a top post, pos to pos and neg to neg.

examine the connections on your battery and cables and ensure they are sparkling and by no potential oxidized. Reconnect the jumper battery to yours, and attempt back. If it nevertheless clicks, take your battery out, take it to Wal-Mart, AutoZone, O'Reilly's, or some automobile keep and characteristic it examined. even if that's weak, it ought to choose charging (some autos are puzzling if no longer no longer accessible to leap with a useless battery). If the battery is wonderful, then your starter or initiate change (in the column) is undesirable. My wager is the starter, yet examine this different stuff first. even if that's the starter, the line cleanser ought to might want to bypass round.

if the connectors aren't on the top, their on the side. the battery has cables connected to it some where.

you hook the jumper cables to where ever the connections are on the battery. they don't need to be on the top.

Gosh - never heard of a battery that doesn't have connectors !!!

But AAA national standards require that if they cannot start your disabled car, they must then tow it to a place of repair. I think you got one of their less skilled drivers.

There's little chance anyone can help unless you tell the year, make, and model of your car.
