unemployment and home care jobs with clients?

I am currently working through a home care agency, where i have clients homes i go into, I have pretty much the same clients and hours. sometimes cut hours depending on if they don't need anyone for those normal hours i work, which leaves me very short on the checks..question is can you apply for UI when you are working less than normal hours?? was not sure if home care agencies count? thank you so much.

Yes Home care agencies count, in fact any job where you filled out a W-2 form would count as legal employment. The amount of hours and time in is what will determine your unemployment eligibility.

You have to be unemployed to get those benefits not just underemployed. So, no you do not get unemployment if they only want you 20 hours one week and 40 the next.
