I get this too, mainly because I have dyslexia, I can't read big chunks of text, because my mind and eyes just wonder. The words look like they are three dimensional and they move and I see wriggly lines underneath, and I can never remember what I read. I also get distracted by little sounds of a clock ticking or door creeking or something.

I also found that reading non-fictional stuff is better to understand. I hate reading fiction, because I just can't process my thoughts and see the big picture. But if someone read the story to me, I'm fine. Lol it's so annoying.

Maybe you just have what I have, or you could have ADD or possibly just tired.
