Honeymoon in August- we want to go to Southeast Asia. Suggestions please!?

I would suggest starting from Cambodia then travelling into Laos , Vietnam and finally Thailand. These countries are cheap and rich in historical sites. Many are still quite off the beaten track. If you have only 1 country to visit then I must say Thailand . It has something for everyone. Need to go next year though as Thailand is grappling with massive floods now.

A really romantic place would be Halong Bay in Vietnam. Great river cruise. Very breathtaking . Was there myself last year and always thinking about a revisit.

Western travellers are funny.. always want less commercialism but when they get there they complain of poor services , poor infrastructure , poor transport facilities , poor hygiene etc. Not trying to generalise here but plse come with yr eyes wide open and not judge the people here by yr own standards. Embrace and respect the culture and you will have a great time.

The Summer Monsoon is will be at its height in August. Do you like rain, lots of heavy rain punctuated by thunderstorms and the possibility of a typhoon passage. I hope so because that's August in Southeast Asia.

Try Bali for August or move the trip to November/December.

Oh please.. this isnt the 1800s... your advantageous to pass to Asia. I travelled all throughout Asia and that i might might desire to assert Thailand may be the suitable area. It it easily fascinating with seashores greater remarkable then hawaii. There are alot of luxurious lodges there for greater cheap then the u . s . a .. good luck!
