Modern Warfare 3 disc is unrecognizable.?

I have the Halo 3 edition Xbox 360 with one of the original (white) Xbox hard drive in it. I beat MW3's campaign earlier this morning and finally got Xbox Live renewed on my account after 860+ days of being offline. Right after I downloaded an "update" for MW3 the disc became unrecognizable. I tried unplugging everything and letting it rest, cleaning the (brand new) disc and all that good stuff and it still doesn't work. I tried to play my Gears of War 3 while connected to xbox live and it still is recognized so I really don't know what's wrong. Can anyone help?

    Go get a new disc from wherever you bought it. just tell them it never worked they just give you a brand new one atleast thats what gamestop and bestbuy do.

    Get a Ps3.Much better experience.
