PC not recognizing disc drive?

I just built this PC last night with my boyfriend and everything was working just fine, this morning though my disc drive is missing. I can open/close it normally but the computer isn't reading any of the discs. Also it is not listed under My Computer but it is listed in the device manager with its driver being up to date.

I've tried to uninstall/reinstall the driver but that didn't do anything.

Update:

Yeah it's plugged in and I checked the connections to make sure they didnt some how come loose overnight. It was working fine last night :(

Correct me if i'm wring but arnt partition programs for hard drives? This is my disc drive the cd/dvd burner.

try plugging it into a different sata port if that doesn't work try finding a driver online if those things dont work you have a defective disc player... and for the other people that answer disc= optical drive disk = hard drive

in case you have disc's on your drives then attempt reloading them. in case you do no longer pass to the producer's website and acquire the main present drivers for the disc drives. you additionally can attempt restoring your computing device to a date while they the two worked. yet another risk is you latterly loaded a software onto your computing device it is inflicting the priority. this could be a application difficulty. to clean up it you should un-setting up the courses a million at a time till you discover the wrongdoer. then you could reload this technique to be sure if it fairly works with the drives. final element. I continually propose that each and every time you load a software you run defrag and then restart right this moment.
