AARP Alternatives Which is better, AMAC or American Seniors Association?
I've been hearing about AMAC for a while now. I would not join AARP. Tell me which is best of these 2 alternatives to AARP,
1. AMAC ( Association of Mature American Citizens
or
2. American Seniors Association ASA
Which of these 2 organizations provide more benefits to it's members, and Which of these 2 organizations have the most members?
Sorry I wasn't clear with my question. I am a Conservative, and what I was looking for was the best AARP alternative between AMAC and ASA, I wanted to know which one had the most members, Which has the most benefits between the two, as well as which one does the most to Support Conservative causes. I didn't know anything about the Gray Panthers, but I googled it and found out it's not conservative at all. for those looking for a Conservative alternative to AARP, Gray Panthers will not work.
Please if you know which one of these is best AMAC or ASA please answer, and if possible provide documentation if available. Thanks :-)
Ok, I am not yet a Senior, and someone ask me to explain why I could possibly be interested in an Organization for Seniors, This is Yahoo Answers, I don't have to explain why I might possibly be interested in it. However for those who Really want to know, I had someone I know who just turned Senior age and asked me to research these groups. I am not so self centered that I can't research something for someone else, and do it all the time and ultimately I am interested in the question I asked or I wouldn't have bothered.

Hi Patrick,
Our Mission here at Amac is to protect Traditional American Values and have "Common Sense Government"
Here are some of the differences between Amac and AARP
We believe in a strong national defense, and in the best funded, and best equipped military in the world; AARP is silent on the issue.
We believe in the right to bear arms; AARP supported the Brady bill.
We opposed ObamaCare, and will fight to repeal it; AARP supported the bill.
We stand against high taxes, which are harmful to those living on a fixed income. AARP is silent on tax policy.
AMAC is not afraid to say we still believe in God and country; AARP has hired Jane Fonda and Harry Belafonte to be their spokespersons.
We also offer benefits such as medicare supplemental insurance, discounts for insurance that includes home, auto, and travel.
Please look at our website for all the things we are doing as well as what we offer members.
Currently we are calling on all Americans to do a Random Act of Gratitude to those who are Veterans and to those who are currently serving. We don't want to just limit this to one day...We encourage Americans to do this for all of November. We value them more than just one day. That is to give you an example of the movement we are currently doing. We also keep our members in the political loop and fight for what their values are. We offer the same incentives as the AARP...the only difference is we stick by our conservative agenda and not go against what the Senior Citizens and Conservative parties want in Washington.
We are growing very fast and have over 220,000 members and projected to have many more in 2012. Everyday we are getting our message out there! If you look at ASA's web page you will see that they are informing you on what is going on politically....but tell me what are they doing? I didn't see much on the website, just a lot of media. This past Monday we sponsored Bill O'Reilly's Presidential Town Hall debate, in which he asked hard hitting questions to Republican nominees. We will soon be putting the update on our page under Amac in action.
Amac is better for you, better for America.
Please check out our website and our facebook page and see what we are doing!!
Also feel free to ask questions on our Facebook page.

AARP is the best. Why is a 36 year old guy so concerned about senior associations? Would you care to explain this for us?

AMAC is a conservative organization which promotes "American" values!!!
ASA is another conservative organization with a decidedly Republican agenda!!!
I think I'll stay with AARP....they're not biased.

I don't know, but I'm writing down the sites to go see. Had never heard of either [know of the Gray Panthers], so appreciate having learned.
