well it depends on what you guys are into.
im 15, and im fortunate enough to live on long island, so all throughout my life i was able to go to the city so many times.
there are so many different parts to the city.
if you guys are "newcomers" i would see the basics first.
maybe take a ferry ride to the statue of liberty and Ellis Island.
Get some food around there (but i wouldn't stay in that area too late, it gets a little sketchy)
Broadway is also a no-brainer (maybe see a show?). there is so much to see in that area. so many tourists though. but in that one area, you can visit the Hard Rock Cafe, Buba Gump (even though its not thaaat famous), the Toy-R-Us (even for your grandparents, walking in there for a few minutes, to just see the Ferris wheel and stuff)
And for your grandparents, you can easily catch a taxi
Going to Central park, and walking into the museums that scatter the perimeter of the park (once again, don't stay too late in that area)
If you guys are into shopping, Sacs 5th Ave, and Lexington Ave are great stops as well.
Then you have the option to go in the funkier areas. China Town (one of my favorite stops) and Little Italy. All great stops
But my absolute favorite stop is to go into Soho. Maybe not the BEST idea for your grandparents (especially). the one place I truly love is a restaurant called Otto. Its a casual pizzeria. Lots of wines, some 'fancier' food. Really warm and welcoming also. It is on 8th, right near Washington Square Park
HAVE FUN! and take lots of pictures!
