1. The telephones must be answered by live people, not voice mail.
2. Never make a promise that you can not keep, in full.
3. If you say the repair man will be there at a certain date, and time, please make very sure that he is there then.
The three most important principals in building a good customer base.
1. Have a name for your business. Always stick to the same name.
2. Always build up this name, never let it down, no matter what.
3. Always have at least one product for sale that is a bit less in price than most other marketers
(4. Never sell on credit!!!)

The three most important factors to me as a client are: a) greet me and make me feel wanted. b) deliver the product in a speedy manner. c) a cheery goodbye to make sure I will return. Businesses have lists of what is most important to them and there is a link below with an example of such lists.
