How do I become a casting director?

if I want to be a casting director what kind of degree do I get? where do I go to apply for jobs after college ect?? CONFUSED!

    The best way to get involved is to appy to be an intern at a casting agency. Many reputable Casting Directors in NYC and LA offer programs like this. It's free labor for them, and you get valuabIe experience. I know a guy who did that this summer with one of the major casting directors in NYC. At the end of the internship he was offered a permanent job. Like any career, you have to pay your dues and work yourself up the ladder. He is now considered a "Casting Associate" but in time and with hard work, he should be able to become a Casting Director either there, or at another agency.
