ok so theres ipod 5th generation and ipod 5th generation late 2006. anyone know if at least the batteries are?

the same because i need a replacement battery but i'm not sure what kind to get. because on ebay they all say just 5th generation. im not seeing any of that late 2006 crap. but i see they're $15 tops most are $10. i'd rather buy a $15 battery than a new ipod. thanks in advance.

    you need to specify which model of iPod... iPod classic? shuffle? Mini? Nano? no one can really help you without that information

    EDIT: I dont believe there is a difference, but to make sure, phone apple and ask them...

    I did this, and its super easy and extends the life of your expensive device by a long time, its definitely worth it. Most legit ebay sellers will often send you the link of how to install the battery once you get it.
