Does coming from a wealthy family make you feel happy?
Well my father is a solicitor and my mother is a head teacher, I get whatever I want whenever I want but I think that's okay because my family can afford it. It was my birthday 6 days ago and I got a Dell Alienware M18X gaming laptop which cost £2400, but my parents could afford it and I'm very grateful and my grandparents got me a APPLE MacBook Pro MD311B/A 17" Laptop. I know it's a lot but I would understand if my family was lower or middle class but we are not. So we can afford to buy expensive stuff and it honestly does make me happy and I'm not going to lie about that either. Are you from a wealthy family like me?

A material item will never leave you with the same happiness as putting a smile on a face, making a difference or just doing something good, this kind of happiness stays inside for a long time maybe forever and will also make you a better and stronger person.
The happiness your talking about is great, but it will only last for as long as your next new material item or until the next new model is available, also it will rarely encourage positive character building.
Remember what good are material items when you have no friends to share with.

Shortie the problem is not living in a wealthy family the problem is when the parents came from nothing and made their selves into something they forget to pass on that wisdom through responsibilities to tha kids yea dig.yeh the kids might go to school or may be able to get anything they want.but they seem to forget the main purspose of life and that's wisdom of living and learning.so instead all they pass on is being stuckup, materialistic, and everything is about money.look at yo girl pari hilton.ya dig?

I have earned all of my wealth.
Spoiled rich kids make me fairly sick, actually. I can't really say how I'd feel if I had come from a rich family, but I'm about 99% sure that I wouldn't appreciate what I have now as much without having had to earn it myself.
I will definitely be making my children (when I have them) earn their own way. I won't be spoiling them even though I easily could. Sure, I'll cover the basics, but if they want a fancy car, TV, computer, cell phone, ect... they are going to have to get a job and buy it themselves.

Money gives you the ability to do more things, there are certain things i want to do but unable because i don't have the money. So maybe it's true that money does sometimes bring hapiness. If i was wealthy i would be happy since i can get all the stuff that i want, but real hapiness is from the people around you not materials.

My father is a medical specialist and I had private tennis lessons and a private highschool and all that. He was never around, I still can't play tennis to save my life and I'd much rather just lived in a non-abusive poor family.
But my standards of poverty are Dutch, so that doesn't say much, I guess.

I grew up in a migrant family, constantly moving to where the next harvest was that we could work in....sometimes sleeping in the family's '62 pontiac because, well, that's what we had and it was better than sleeping in the cold outside.
