    S Video Black And White

Unless you have a defective s-video cable, the answer may be in the DVD or projectors video setup Menu choices.

If your TV has an s-video input jack plug the DVD into it and see if plays ok. If so, the projector input video type needs to be adjusted. If you also get black and white on the TV then the output video format needs to be changed in your DVD via its setup menu.

A defective S-video cable is the most likely culprit. The four-pin connectors are quite fragile, and there are two separate circuits: Two pins carry "luminance", which is the black and white part of the video, while the two other pins carry the "chrominance" signal, or colour.
