Is it alright to shoot an animal when sacrificing?

Question

Because there was a huge bull we had to sacrifice and there weren't many people and it has horns and it was like a life or death situation if we messed up. Like we did a goat before and that required 3 people and it was tough, so just imagine a bull. 
So in the end we shoot the bull in the head and then quickly ran at it to sacrifice it, we read the dua, sharp blade, etc...
Is this halal?

after you guys shot the bull in the head and it was still alive then u killed it with a sharp blade it was considered halal but if you guys shot the bull and it died right away that would be haram because you guys are eating a dead animal and Allah(swt) knows best....

I would better off, get more people and put him down to sacrifice. Because, you want the meat to be halal, so you can do the prayer which is, bismillah allahu akbar, and sacrifice the animal.

You cannot slaughter and eat a dead animal which eventually happens instantly when you shoot head !!!!!
