What Title Would You Give This Dumb Painting I Just Finished?

I call it dumb because I’m not sure yet what I think of this newer figurative style I’m playing around with. I am trying to do something weirdly figurative, not too realistic but not too cartoonish. Anyway, I may come to love it or to hate it and not do any more like it.

But the point of the question is this: Right now it’s called ‘Alice Noir’ but could certainly have a better title than this. I thought of ‘Alice Now’ or ‘Alice Asking’ but these sound lame.

Any suggestions on a better title?

(If you wish to you can double-click on the image to enlarge it. Or, being a modern Alice with an attitude, to enrage it.)

Update:

Petr, trying to provide just enough information without beating the viewer over the head with the obvious is not always so easy. The original version just had only the over-sized Alice, the books, the clock and lamp. I showed this to about a half-dozen people, five of which didn’t make the connection. Then I painted in the Cheshire Cat, hated it because it looked to cartoonish and painted the cat out. So I added the 2 0f Hearts on the wall, the tea pot and cups and the flamingo. Why in the world I gave the flamingo tennis shoes to wear I have no idea, but they’re staying because I think they're weirdly cool. It was either that or giving the bird high-heels to wear. Still, an artist friend said I needed to color the flamingo but pink doesn’t figure in the color scheme here.

My next painting? My version of Michelangelo’s ‘The Creation’ based on the Sistine Chapel painting.

Update 2:

n a question like this there are no wrong answers and I want to thank you all personally who took the time to reply and offer suggestions and insight. If it were up to me you would all share the best answer. Again, thank each of you.

    forty before midnight at Alice's

    Reclining nude no. 1

But you may recall I am vehemently against providing viewers or listeners with too much 'information,' which explains the nature of the titles I've suggested. Too much information cancels out more active engagement (and a sense of wonder) for an audience.

    Best regards.

P.s. To torque / paraphrase Oscar Wilde, "There is always something ridiculous about (( something )) one has ceased to love." i.e. The moment I am done with a piece, which had my very full passion and attention in the making, it can seem quite quickly thereafter, "dumb." So I'll take your self-deprecating statement this painting is 'dumb' as that post act of completion after effect so many who make stuff up seem to suffer.

[ The only 'out,' you know, is to begin making something new :-)

    Alice's Pelican of Mercy...In Observation

or... A Merciful Pelican Observing Alices' Dilemma...

    Cool bird with shoes,demystifying alice!

maybe more will come to heart and mind... i love the side views... seems as though Missy Alice has a double dose of dreamin' hearts... and a mixed up sense of timing... as the clock ticks tocks tacks, and lands on seven... i love the sights the views the windows offer...choices...places she'd maybe rather be..

I may add to this...:) OH my goodness... i am sorry, i think i got my birds mixed up... ( one time during Halloween, a friend had bought a Buzzard... and for the life of me, i thought it was a Penquin>>> must be my lazy eye, n all) Please forgive, i like all your work... i just ain't finely tuned ...yet!!!

Interesting... sad, wondrous, mystifiying. justifying.. locked in a room... with her studies... and books... in naked loss...sipping her tea...in misery.

it is good to imagine... all within this portrait...this one has meaningful flair...abstract but conceptual.

    Love

I do like your current title: 'Alice Noir'. It implies mystery, confusion, darkness.

My suggestion--'Alice Alone, Naturally'. (an homage to Gilbert O'Sullivan's song "Alone Again

Naturally"; this particular song is very evocative for me of sadness and sometimes tears).

I also like your new painting & don't think it is dumb!
