Atom economy and percentage yield?

A reaction produces 40dm^3 of of carbon dioxide gas. The equation for this reaction is C + O2 ---> CO2. Calculate the atom economy and percentage yield.

    There is not enough information to calculate the percentage yield.

    The atom economy is 100 %, defined by

    (wanted product atoms / reagent atoms) * 100

    = (3/3) * 100

    A reaction may have a great %yield because almost all of its reactant turn into products. But it may have a low atom economy because the majority does not turn into the product that you want (i.e. it turns into by-products or heat) industry try and counter-act this by using the by-products (or heat) in other reactions or to catalyse reactions, or may even sell the by-products.
