If studded tires are legal in your jurisdiction , and you see lots of snow and ice , by all means get them - they offer the ultimate traction in winter driving. I have studded winter tires on my toyota echo , and have less issues than many people with 4X4s . I have them mounted on separate rims , so that I can install them in a few minutes on my own driveway. The only downside is , studded tires are noisy .

No, you shouldn't unless your in some remote are where the weather is pretty treacherous. Normal winter driving on a 4 WD with good tires should be sufficient. The other downside to studs, they have to be off at a certain time of the year in some areas, or you can be fined. At least in Pa. that is true.

Weather determines if you need studded tires, not the vehicle.

A 4WD trailblazer in Miami is a waste of expensive rubber.
