How do you know that the frequency of light does not change when light reflects off a mirror?

    Hello educated.... , option b is right one. As colors remain the same even after reflection we come to the conclusion that there won't be any change in the frequency of light due to reflection phenomenon. But if light gets reflected by a denser medium as it traverses from comparatively rarer medium then there will be a phase change. Phase change of pi radian would occur due to reflection at a denser medium. But in case of total internal reflection no such phase change happens.
