buy canon rebel t3i now? or wait until the t4i is released?
hey guys i was wondering what you think would be the smarter thing to do. Purchase the cannon rebel t3i or wait until the t4i is released sometime very soon next year. I'm worried that after i purchase the t3i they will release the t4i and the picture quality and the overall performance of the camera will be much better. The t3i and t2i aren't much different at all, but that doesn't mean that the t4i won't make big changes. If anyone has any info on the release date of the t4i and knows what changes they are going to make id also like to know that.

Any improvements in image quality on the T-series bodies (2ti, 3ti, 4ti, 5ti) will be pretty subtle. They will never be a 5D Mark ii.
The only real difference between the 2ti and the 3ti is a e flip screen and the ability to use remote flash. So if you won't use those two features, save yourself a $100 and get the 2ti. I use the video and think the flip screen is worth the $$. I would buy today and spend the next year really learning your camera. Two years from now, you will have hundreds of better shots with the t3i and a year of mastering with it then you would shooting with your current camera and waiting for a t4i. If the t3i doesn't have the quality you seek, you likely won't be happy with a future t4i. You are better off saving up and getting a D series camera and 1-2 great lenses.

So what if the T4i is out? Does that mean your camera wont be able to take good pictures? Do you buy a camera to take pictures or to just think about what gear you could have, instead of shooting.
The difference in quality between rebels is mostly none. T2i and T3i use the same sensor, and nobody could ever tell if a shot was taken with 450D or 5D Mark II. Images depend on you, all DSLRs are great but if you dont know how to use them nothing will help.
Get the T3i, or T2i if you don't need the articulating screen, spend the rest for lenses and other stuff and learn! Rebels are always just a minor upgrade. About the changes they are going to make..it's not like Canon tells to everyone what they will have, it's only for testers and they're under a contract.

The T4i release is not to be expected anytime soon, likely it's more than a year away. Don't wait for it.
I'd get a T2i instead of a T3i and save the rest for lenses, by the way.

I seriously doubt wether the picture quality will be that much different from one camera to the other. What has been my experience is that I waited for the next model to come out in their popular SX models. Thinking that the current model would be reduced in price. No such luck. Canon RAISED the price on the new model and the RAISED the price of the older model to match the price of the new model $50.00). Dirty pool, if you ask me! As a result I didn't buy either one!

If you think the T4i is going to make a stellar difference to a beginner you're kidding yourself. Improvements will be on the video side and high iso. From base to 1600 I don't expect much difference

Boy do I agree that if you actually think one camera to another will improve what you're doing photo wise, get a life. Sounds to me like you expect a camera to do everything for you... how typical of people who don't understand cameras at all.
