What do you think of this strange name for a little girl?

I almost like the name Marilyn, but I don't care for "lyn" endings, and the name seems so 1950's and passive, wishy-washy. Seriously, when you say it there is no vibrance; It's depressing.

Maryland is cheerful, energetic, and a very pretty replacement for the sad Marilynn. Also, I love the way it looks, very semetrical. The nickname Mary is wonderful....or Andie. We have Dakota (That's 2 States), Indiana, Alaska (or so it seems), Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Carolina (2 states), Virginia (2 states) Louisiana, Jersey......So using Maryland as a name is perfectly reasonable.
