How hard is it to make a turkey ?
This year I will be spending Thanksgiving with my husband for the first time ( we have been married 8 months ) . Since this is our first turkey dinner , and we are spending it just the two of us , I have decided to make it myself . So I am just wondering how hard is it to make a turkey in the oven ? Thats the only part that worries me . Does anyone have any tips or easy to follow recipes ? Thanks !

It's not hard, Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because a turkey is so easy to cook. I usually make the dressing using the packaged dressing, add celery, onion, chicken broth, salt, pepper. Stuff the bird, rub the whole turkey with olive oil or butter, cover with aluminium foil, follow the cooking directions on the turkey wrapper. Remove the foil one hour before the bird is ready. If you can 't make your own gravy I think most canned gravy is icky, the best tasting is sold at Williams & Sonoma. Happy Turkey Day.

If you want a perfect juicy turkey, but you don't want it to be difficult, get some oven bags from the store. They are usually next to the zip top bags. They have cooking times and instructions based on the weight of your turkey in the package, so there is no guessing. We use them whenever we make turkey, and everyone always goes on about how our turkey is so much more moist than others they have eaten. Good luck, and by the way, unless you like the dark meat, a turkey breast would be a better size for just the two of you, and my instructions still apply.

It isn't hard to roast a turkey at all. Go to the butterball.com website for lots of tips as well as roasting instructions - stuffed or unstuffed. Finish roasting the turkey and then put it on the carving board covered with foil so it frees up your oven to finish your other side dishes. Then let your new husband carve the bird (hints for this also on butterball's site) while you dish up the other things.
Even if it's just 2 of you, use your serving dishes and set a full table for that special day.
Don't forget a nice bottle of wine!

Very hard.
But If you do still want to make it, make sure you have a meat thermometer and some good recipes.
Good luck :)
