    * I live in Pa. The most I have got in one (1*) year is one-hundred thirty (130)* and they were all shot in the head only never in the body.* I always aim and hit them in the head.* I ate some, and gave all the others away to people that also liked to eat them. All they had to do was cook them because I dressed, skinned, and cut up all of them ready for the pot.* My longest shot was 400+ yards with none closer than 200 yards.* I never needed to shoot more than once at them, and I never missed any of the ones I shot at.* I used my Remington Model 700 Varmint Rifle in 22-250 caliber with a 20 Power Redfield Target Scope mounted on it.* No Brag just a Fact.* I shoot my own hand loaded ammo.* <> No way Jack of some Trades.* Only in your imagination did you kill 165 groundhogs in one (1) day.* You are a BS.*

    catching or shooting?

I have never caught a groundhog. well its not like i tried.

the highest (and only) time I shot groundhogs at my friend's parent's rural property is 165 ground hogs in a single day. because I lacked a proper varmint rifle I used a combination of my .22LR rifle (marlin 925r), my Norinco SKS, and my Mosin Nagant 91/30. needless to say, both the SKS & Mosin was overkill, the bullets blow those things to bits.

Source(s): my friend's parents had 165 acre "farm" in the middle of nowhere. we just went there to plink and ended up using ground hogs for target practice, his parents said they were pests, and wanted to see how many we could get. I took the first 50 or so with the .22 rifle. then another 50 or so with the SKS. and finally about 60 with the Mosin Nagant. I think the ever-increasing gunfire noise scared the other groundhogs away. my friend took a bunch with his 9mm handgun and 12 gauge shotgun.
