Getting a buzz from the input jack on my guitar?

There's a buzz from the input jack on my guitar. It's not the instrument cable as I've tried a bunch of different cables and still have the problem. The guitar is a Gibson Explorer with a Seymour Duncan Alnico II in the neck and a Seymour Duncan Dimebucker in the bridge. If I push the instrument cable hard into the guitar, the buzzing and hum stops completely but comes back when I let go. I opened the input jack and it seems to still be soldered properly, but I'm not 100% sure on that. Any suggestions?

Your guitar does not have an input jack. It has an output jack. No sound goes INTO the guitar.

It could be a number of things, the simplest of which is just a ground fault. A wire may have come undone or something. When you push on the jack, you're pushing everything into place again.

Take it to a professional and have them look at it. It shouldn't be an expensive fix.

    Guitar Input Jack

It will be an output jack socket, not an input jack socket. I presume that what you mean is that the guitar buzzes? The buzz won't be coming from the output socket, it will either be coming from the electronics of the guitar or the amp. If the buzzing stops when you touch a metal part of the guitar (such as a metal jack plug barrel, strings etc. it is probably a shielding/earthing problem.

Tighten the jack, you may want to just get a new jack, the one you might have could be a cheap crummy one. OR if you have a good jack, maybe it is your pickups. I know on one of my guitars it buzzes because of the not-so-expensive pickups on it.

(Edit: nevermind. It is definitely not your pickups. I just noticed the brand, lol.

Buy a new input jack at your music store. That will fix it.
