    A handful of players as a part of trial constructed by Brett Burton (Brisbane's Assistant Coach) went to Arizona to experiment with H.A.T. While the rest of the Lions are training at Noosa Heads QLD. Some interesting ones I've seen though are;

    Freo - Esperance W.A. - About 300km south-west-west of Perth

    North Melbourne - Park City, Utah, USA - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6pJVCRbqBd8

    Carlton - Abu Dhabi and Doha, Qatar

    Port Adelaide - Christchurch, NZ.

    I think it's beneficial to players who have been out with injury for a while to get a feel for the ball again - or to continue their rehab, and for the new players who have joined the ranks to meet their new teammates and coaches and get used to how the team is set up. I don't know if extra long preseason training is beneficial, or a precursor to injury given how the speed of the game has changed so much in 20 years or so, but it's up to the training staff to know when to call it a day on a training session from the heat and therefore prevent injuries to their players. Training in heat might prepare them for more humid matches - say up in Darwin or over in Brisbane or Perth - and Adelaide can be scorching too, so the away teams training in heat can adapt to it. I think good preparation is a key to any successful club, but you have to be prepared for setbacks and injuries - something which some of the teams either didn't do, or couldn't - such as Hawthorn from their injuries last season, Essendon towards the end of the season, or Carlton, who sorely underestimated Brisbane because we managed to beat them 3 times previously during previous season matches. That which doesn't kill you makes you stronger - but it might have a better go next time!
