Uncontrollable shaking during a presentation?
Okay, so I get really nervous before I have to present anything. It isn't just my hands that shake. Literally, my entire body is shaking and I can barely stand. Also, I will stutter and mess up words....a lot.
I have already tried to rehearse what I am going to say, but that doesn't help. I can say it perfectly until I am infront of an audience (that doesn't consist of people I know well)
Also I am fine with presenting in a group..... It is when I have to fly solo I suck.
I am really horrid at this and would like to atleast be able to stop shaking. Any tips would be awesome.

i know youre going to think this is shitty advice, but do it more often. Its terrible at first and sometimes it never gets better, but if you don't push yourself then you KNOW it won't ever get better. It took me a whole year to get more comfortable with public speaking after taking two 9-week courses which required me to give speeches every week. It was awful and I hated it but it made me a lot better of a public speaker. Good luck!

There are different elements of the problem you could consider. First, you could try to understand what makes you nervous about presenting alone. Are you afraid of what people think of you? Realizing what exactly makes you nervous could help you, because then you could talk to yourself about how those fears don't matter.
You can also practice a lot. I used to rehearse all my speeches until I had them memorized. I would still bring note cards with me though, it would just make me feel more confident.
You could always try behavioral therapy, which is when you start off speaking in front of one person, then a group of people, then a larger group, etc. until you're comfortable. If all else fails, you could look into anti-anxiety medicine.
Don't give up! I used to shake when I presented things, and turn BRIGHT red and feel nauseated. After forcing myself to practice more, realizing what about it made me nervous, and some anti-anxiety medicine, I recently performed in a school play!

These tips are for people who stutter all the time. Maybe some of them will help you. Tips for doing a presentation Know your subject matter really well and practice reading to your dog or just out loud to yourself ahead of time. Look over the heads of the class at a point on the wall in the back of the room. The class will think you are looking at them, and the teacher will think you are looking at your audience. Don't notice any reaction from the class. Their reaction doesn't matter, but it might make you feel more nervous. Concentrate on what you are saying rather than how you are saying it. Don't try to keep from stuttering as that will make you stutter more. If you stutter, just let it happen. Maintain a steady pace, not too fast, and don't get in a hurry to "get it over with." Speak in a relaxed manner and pause every so often. Start into words easily keeping your lips, tongue, and jaw relaxed.

Practice will help. You will gain self-confidence which will make you less nervous. Many experienced public speakers and performers still get nervous but have learned to control it.
