Question about a video/TVshow with man singing Holly Jolly Christmas?

Even with my descriptions, this may be difficult. A few days after Christmas, 1982 (or maybe 1983), at my neighbor's house, I saw on TV (probably a cable channel) a man talking briefly, then began singing "Holly Jolly Christmas." The man had on a jacket, shirt and tie, and a Santa hat on his head, and, most notably, it was actually a black and white picture of him, which did not move - only his mouth moved when he spoke or sang. Toward the end of the song, it was revealed that he had some gum in his mouth, and I think he eventually spat it out. Does anyone have any idea who he is/was, or the what name of the show this could have been? It was certainly not Burl Ives. The show may have been some kind of entertainment talk show, but I don't know for sure. I'd sure like to see this again. I've looked on youtube, but there are over 4000 videos matching Holly Jolly Christmas.
