Trying to find the words to describe this type of person...?

I know someone who seems to constantly CRAVE praise from other people. I don't know if praise is the right word. It seems she needs constant validation that she is better than other people or that she is the best at what she does. For instance, where she works, she constantly talks about how she does a better job than ALL of her co-workers. When a customer compliments her on being good at her job she is sure to share it with everyone. If they tell her that she is better than all her other co-workers she spreads that around too. And for the most part she seems to actually BE better in the service role than her co-workers. But she is always talking about how she is just a nicer person, and things like that when the truth is that she is doing it for that praise. This is just one of many examples of where she does it in life.

I see it as a combination of needing praise, acceptance, validation... Having a ton of pride. Being narcassistic. Being selfish and self-centered....

But I feel like there is a better term or condition that may describe this and I'm looking for that better term because I am sure it would be easier to talk about and discuss things if I knew that...

So, if you have a better way of describing what I stated above, please answer.

Thanks.

genuine grit--you defined John Wayne or Indiana Jones For a suitable philosophy paper--Nietzsche, i'm specific--use the term alpha-male. The Ubermich would not exist, no longer even in Neitzsche's very own Zarathustra.

Not egocentric. Thats when a (child normally) believes the world revolves around them.

Egotistical is a bit better I think
