Question about having a job?
So I just applied online to be a cashier at a local grocery store. I'm 16 and this will be my first job. A couple of my friends told me that if you want to get the job, you have to actually GO to the store and talk to the manager to show them that you are dedicated and really want the job. However, I don't want to screw this up (even if it's not an interview). What do people usually talk about when they go just to visit the manager. What should I say? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Walk in with your chest puffed out and confident and shake his hand firmly(a handshake tells a lot about a person) and say my name is "" and I am looking for a job and I am wondering if you have any positions available. They will say " we have a cashier, or a stock position" then ask for the available hours and if you could work out a schedule. If you can get past that part they will pretty much carry on the conversation from there, they will ask if you put your application in, if not they will say put that in online and come back...before you leave stand up and shake their hand agian and say I really hope you consider hiring me, this job is very important. Then a few days later call them on the phone and ask for the manager and tell him your name and when you came in a few days before then ask "I was just calling to see if those positions are still available" and they will say whether or not, then say thank you and hang up, call back every 3-7 days to follow up,they only want people who will follow up for the job.
