There could be a number of reasons. He may actually have fleas or something could be irritating his skin. This happened to my dog and it turned out he had an allergic reaction to a certain type of grass that grew in our yard! Washing them too frequently can cause irritation as well. Try using a sensitive shampoo and conditioner and make sure you get ALL the soap suds out because that can irritate their skin as well.

If it's not fleas or ticks and changing shampoo doesn't work, it might be worth taking a trip to the vet.

"He has no fleas and gets washed every couple of days".

    That is your answer.

You are bathing this dog to death. Dogs only need bathed about every 6-8 weeks, some dogs even less.

Washing them as often as you have done have washed ALL of the natural oils out of skin and hair.

Skin and hair is so severely dried out it is no wonder the dog is scratching.

Start by stopping the baths today. Start giving a good quality dry dog food with either a couple of tablespoons of fatty fish oil or cod liver oil over food daily.

A trip to vet is in order just in case there is damage done to skin.

Brush your dogs daily to help remove the dander and dry hair and skin.

And for God's sake stop bathing so much.

Sorry, needs a vet. Also you did not mention breed. Does the dog have a thick undercoat? If so you are bathing him too much and his undercoat probably stays wet, not good. Could be allergies, hot spots, parasites, need a vet to sort him out proper.

Do you feed a food that contains wheat or corn? If so gradually switch to a grain free, that might help depending on what the problem actually is.

already raped by byb over breeding

you buy and try until you find cause

take to vet and get a skin test to buy and try after

    grain free food can help

    pills from vet can help

    beach water/sand could be problem

    creek could be problem

dogs skin shouldn't be washed until 6-8 weeks between
