If you bave a droid phone or htc phone does the phone need to have minutes to be able to use the internet?

I need to know that if I lose phone service will I still be able to access the web with a droid phone or htc? If so which is the best?

    Nope, no service for calls and messages - no internet. The only thing that helps is WiFi if you have one around...

    Yes, as long as you are using WiFi. No 4G. WiFi internet is free.
