It depends on where you will be working, but the areas with the best neighborhoods and schools, would be:
West Plano, Frisco, Allen, Coppell, South Lake, Irving North of LBJ Freeway, McKinney

I grew up in Far North Dallas, just a few blocks south of Plano, TX and I loved growing up there. If you live east of Preston Rd and south of Frankfurt Rd, your kids would go to Richardson schools (Pearce High School) and the elementary and middle schools (depending on how old your kids are) in the area are highly rated and awarded by the state as well.
It is a very safe area with many parks and a long biking/jogging path that eventually connects to the trails around White Rock Lake.
I also think Richardson, Flower Mound, Lake Highlands, Plano, or Frisco would be very nice. All of these cities have great schools and are very safe. Good luck!

Ignore the two kiddies having a retard slap fight above. I travel quite frequently for my job and I love the Buckhead area. I know just the place for you. Post Addison Circle is a Metro area right smack in the middle of North Dallas. It's Metro living in a suburban environment and it's close to EVERYTHING. The apartment complex has: 4 Pools Secured Gate Access to over 10 Buildings and 1300 Apartments all within walking distance Tons of different floor plans to offer Bars, Stores, and Restaurants Right Underneath the apartments Close access to Belt Line Road where all the rest of the restaurants and bars are located Community activities full of young professionals It took me a few years before I moved into the complex because I thought it was overpriced but you really get what you pay for when it comes to Dallas. The fact that I don't have to drive very far to have a social life is incredible and it was so easy meeting people being from a new place. I love the place. I've included a link to the website with pictures and a listing of all available apartments and prices. Hope this helps!

The North Dallas suburbs are the best in the Metroplex. Try Addison, Plano, Richardson, or Frisco.

I strongly suggest coppell, plano, grapevine, southlake, Valley Ranch, las colinas, frisco or southern lewisville. Coppell and Southlake are probably the best choices they all have very very good schools . Coppell is in dallas county while Southlake is in Tarrant( Fort Worth) county.

It really depends on where you work. I prefer Lake Highlands. It has Dallas taxes but Richardson schools and is close to freeways and back routes to downtown. Several DART stations in the area also.
