Army,Marine and Navy Warrant Officers?

What are the "up or out" rules for Warrant Officers in each service?

I heard for the Army that it's 30 years from the time you become commissioned.

As of Sept 30, 2011 the Navy had 55 W-5's and the Marine Corps had 103 of them.

The service rules are the same for everyone, enlisted, warrant or officer.

You may serve 32 years on active duty

You may serve up to age 62

    Whichever comes first.

    2. To serve longer or after age 62, you must receive permission from the Secretary of your service branch on a year by year basis.

    3. But there is a special provision in the law that allows W-5's to serve for up to 30 years as a warrant officer, not just 30 years of service.

Only the Army has W-5's at this time.,
