Can you be too young for a serious relationship?

Hi i'm an 18 year old guy and my girlfriend is 16 and still in school. We're very much in love, but we broke up because she thinks she's too young for a relationship like this... although she still thinks we may end up together because she thinks we are meant to be together, but just not yet...what am i supposed to make of this?

Thank you.

I was only 15 when I had my first long lasting relationship. It lasted 2 years, so it can work (sadly we broke up) but yeah I don't see why not. Maybe she is not ready just yet? 16 is the age when there are serious exams and educational choices to be made, so give her some time to concentrate on school. Just be there for her, if you are willing to wait then you can :)

If you really love her, wait for her! When she's ready for a serious relationship she'll come back around. Good Luck :)
