Value of created gemstones?
So, all these jewelry stores now sell created gemstones (emeralds, sapphires, rubies, etc) as well as natural gemstones, but at a reduced cost. What I want to know is, do these created stones keep their value like natural gemstones? Or, does their value decrease over time like simulated gemstones (cubic zirconia, etc)?

There isn't really any value to hold. Taking cubic zirconia as an example, you can buy lots of 100, 500 or 1000 stones for pennies apiece. For large stones you'll pay a few dollars instead of a few pennies, but the principle is the same. Mass production with computerized cutters = low price. Production will only get easier in the future, not harder, further putting a ceiling on prices of manufactured stones.
.
You'll pay more for larger pieces of other gems such as the synthetic emeralds, sapphires, etc., but again these will only become cheaper over time as manufacturing limits are overcome. There's a lot of downside, with no real limits on the upside, which doesn't add up to any kind of investment opportunity.
.
All this is in my opinion, I'm not an expert, and your mileage may vary, but I feel pretty comfortable with this assessment.
