Can my 82 year-young mother take Trazadone for insomnia as she has glaucoma?

Can Trazadone be safely used for insomnia in one that has glaucoma? I can't find any information about this on the internet. Help please? Will be so grateful for any advice or information. My mother is so sleep deprived and all homeopathic remedies have been tried with no success. Can she safely take a small dose of Trazadone as she takes no prescribed medication and is in wonderful health. But we have got to find something to help her get some sleep. Thank you so much for any advice.

Update:

@ Alan C. I am greatly offended by your comment about my mother. I am hopeful that you will learn what she taught my sisters and me when young. "If you can't say something nice about someone, then you should say nothing at all." I feel that you need to heed this advice as one never makes unkind statements about another person's mother. I came to this section for some help for my mother. Not to have her insulted by you. I wonder how healthy you will be at 82 years? And remember what goes around comes around. So I strongly suggest you spread some seeds of kindness to the elderly. You aren't young forever. You may not relate to being old, but one day you will regret your statements about our beloved elders. And she is in such good health that I bet you couldn't even keep up with her. Karma Balances All. You might want to reconsider your words. As once they are spoken or written they are never forgotten. Forgiven? Possibly. Forgotten? Never. I hope you have some shame in you for your unk

Update 2:

@ continued to Alan C I hope you have some shame in you for your unkind words. Remember only you can change yourself. Nobody can change "you" but yourself.

Update 3:

@ Alan C You good with me. Who am I to judge you. Sorry got so effn self-righteous. Shame Shame on me. Hope you forgive me? YOU AOK. The holidays are always so stressful! Am extending the olive branch. I sure did react in a bitchy way. Guess it's like one of those "YO MAMA" moments and I was like Leap Froggy...So was my manner 55 years OLD or 55 years YOUNG? I think i'm on the "childish" OLD. lol Should have waited to post this one as I have discovered what they say is true. Never mail an angry letter at night. Sleep on it, read it again, and then decide. Hope I have learned my lesson. Rather humbling for one that espouses compassion and trying to not create any new negative karma, So please forgive me and I apologize to you. If you accept......Maybe I'm beginning my "second childhood," God I hope not,,,,,yet...Happy Thanksgiving. Bless you and yours.

@ Indiana Jones Great advice and love the web site. And good luck to you on your complete eye health. You so kind and thoughtful.

trazadone will NOT effect her glaucoma.

you can look up any drug up on drugs.com and it will warn you if you should avoid a drug due to a certain health condition you have.

i've seen you asking such questions multiple times.

you do realize all she has to is ask her EYE dr whether something will effect her glaucoma right?

even some medications that warn you not to take them if you have glaucoma can safely be taken even if you do have glaucoma. (for example i'm on adipex right now)

    Source(s): i am 25 and i've had glaucoma since i was 11.
