Okay so this is kinda cliche but I liked this boy at school but didn't really get the chance to talk much at school so I started speaking to him on fb chat and then the next day he started the conversation which I thought was a good sign. So we talked for a few days on fb then I suggested we meet on Saturday night to go on a walk and he agreed. I gave him my number and he text me asking when etc. So we met and ended up speaking for two and a half hours and it wasn't awkward at all. Then after that we kept texting each other. But he asked me if he should ask another girl to the dance which didn't bother me at first cos I was already going with someone. But he brought it up more than once so I asked him if he liked her and he said yes (this was all by text btw). So we didn't text for a day but then he text me on Sunday and I text him on Tuesday but I haven't heard from him since. What do you think? Should I still keep trying to talk to him? Does he like me at all? Thanks :)

Well, Seems like he thinks of you as just a friend. If you just think of him as the same way, then don't worry about the other girl. Now if there is feelings, i'd say tell him how you feel. If he isn't going to text you back or whatever, just ignore him & forget about it. Also, it maybe a sign he's trying to make you jealous or hint that he's interested in you. You could always ask him if he likes you the way you think he does, and if he says yes admit that you like him to. 
But if there is actually another girl involved, i'd just find someone new to like & remain his friend.

Does someone who 'likes you' have to actually have to NOT like anyone else?

I like all sorts of people, but it doesn't mean that I 'want to go on dates with them'.

Sometimes (or so [sigh] it seems to mean), that a guy (or girl) will say they 'like another' just so as to not admit that the 'really rather ''Like'' the person they are talking with' ~ for fear of rejection.

So, though you Know the truth, you don't Know THE WHOLE Truth.

Tell him that you're going to the prom with the other guy but you'd prefer it if you could go with this guy instead and that it is a shame that he's already going with somebody else.
once he knows that If he's really into you he'll come up with some reason for him to become available to go with you instead.

I think he migh be trying to make you jealous....IDK.  Find out if he likes you at all!! If you really like him, go after him.
