Why would a patient with pancreatic cancer show raised levels of plasma glucose concentrations?

I have an essay to do and the patient has pancreatic cancer of the head of the pancreas. One of his clinical presentations is his raised plasma glucose. The essay says to explain its pathophysiology. I'm stuck on this part! Any ideas on what to look for to explain this? Thanks in advance!

the pancreas is responsible for insulin and if it's not working then this could be why. i don't know how to explain it exactly for your essay. but, try looking up diabetes and pancreatic cancer. also try looking up the functions of the pancreas and see how the two correlate.

Im assuming its because your pancreas are responsible for creating insulin to regulate sugar. Kind of like people who have diabetes (too much sugar) their pancreas are not regulating the insulin for sugar. But why dont you type in raised levels of plasma glucose concentration and see what happens.
