Amazon prime membership & kindle library?

I just got a kindle and noticed that there is a lender's library where you can borrow books for free. You must be an Amazon Prime member to access this and for $79 a year it seems better than spending the money on books when you can borrow thousands for free. I went to start my free trial and noticed it said borrow as frequenntly as once a month. Does this mean that you can only borrow one book a month? If so this membership would be a major waste of money. Opinions from members would be appreciated.

If that's your only interest for joining Amazon Prime then don't do it. From what I understand, the Lending Library only has about 5000 books right now. Best sellers, but that isn't much of a collection. Prime offers other benefits though, two day free shipping on most Amazon products and a large movie collection that can be downloaded. I have it for the shipping and for me at least, it saves some money.
