if you had problems with listening to voicemails and calling people, would you get a new phone?

are HTC WILDFIRES hard to operate because i've never known how to use mine since iv'e had it, i can text, take pictures, listen to music on it and that's about it. i can't make calls, i can't take calls. has it got something to do with the battery life. whether or not i'm texting someone, listening to voicemail or making a call, as soon as i stopped doing something on the phone, it freezes. it is so annoying because sometimes if i am on a call for more than 10 minutes, the phone automatically switches off

this is definitely one of the worst phones i've ever bought
