I don't know what your into but I'm stationed in Germany not 2 hours from Munich and my wife and I love to sight see. Munich itself has tons of history. Octoberfest is held there in the month of September. Near there you have the concentration camp Dachau which has a museum and memorial. It's a big part of German history. A little further south will take you to Edelweiss which is right on the Alps. You can visit the Neuschwanstein Castle, which is what they based the Disney castle off of. Whatever you do in and around Munich be sure to plan your trip to fit it all in 3 days and make best use of your time....there is too much in that area for only 3 days. I love Munich by the way and make the trip every now and again. I hope you have fun there
Good Luck!

I agree with Chad. See as many sights as you can. What sights depends on your personal likes and preferences. On my trips there I preferred not to spend all day inside a museum. So in my case I spent time seeing some of the greater architectural beauty in the area as well as the historical hotspots. My short list would be Marienplatz, Frauenkirche, Englischergarten, Dachau Concentration Camp, Viktualienmarkt, Olympiapark (1972 Munich Olympics), and the Hofbrauhaus (world famous beer hall). It would be worth it if you had almost the full day to take a day trip down to Neuschwanstein as well. It really is a beautiful castle in an amazing setting and it puts you right up against the Alps. Oh, and if you love cars, the BMW plant tour and museum. No matter what you find to do you will enjoy it, Munich is a great city, one of my favorites.

You could check out the German Museum or the famous Hofbräuhaus brewery. And just a couple miles outside of Munich is Dachau. If you want to do be more serious you can visit Concentration camp and fresh up your History. If the weather is nice visit the English Garden.

Munich is just a huge city with: restaurant, nightlife and accommodation listings, with hotelbye , you can have a look. Munich is the capital city of Bavaria and the third-most populous city in Germany. For centuries the seat of the Dukes, Electors, and Leaders of Bavaria, the Munich Residenz is undoubtedly certainly one of Europe's most magnificent palaces. Laid out around seven big courts, the vast resident complicated comprises three principal parts: the Königsbau, fronting in to Max-Joseph-Platz; the Alte Residenz, facing Residenzstrasse; and the Festsaalbau (Banqueting Hall) overlooking the Hofgarten. The initial section of this big complicated to be created was the magnificent Antiquarium, built-in 1579 and now part of the excellent Residenz Museum. Munich is just a city with plenty of record, make sure you examine it whole.

The same you do at home. Even the street corner is different, and at the same time the same. Don't worry, time will go so fast, you'll wonder where it went.
Peace.
