How can I keep my Cats off the kitchen counter?

I have tried nearly everything. Tried citrus cleaning products cleaned with bleach tried the double sided tape for the stickiness nothing will keep them off. I am trying to find something to put up there to keep the cats off my counter with out harming any of us.

Update:

well I have been using the squirt bottle that is the first thing I used. The squirt bottle allways seemed to work for every other problem lol. but I will try the alumium foil and ty for all the responses

This is hard, since you've already tried some of the easy stuff, but try cutting aluminum foil in the shape of the counter and place it there when not in use, they hate the crinkling, and keep using the squirt gun if you catch them in the act, and a stern voice. Good Luck!

Spray them with water every time you see them up there the will eventually equate the counter to getting wet

yell at them when they do it and spray them with water. cats are sensitive and they do learn, but they are stubborn also so it takes time.
