Question about the newer PS3 consoles?

I have a PS3 which will play PS, PS2 and PS3 games. I'd like to get another PS3 console to hook up into another room.

But I have heard that the newer PS3 console will only play PS3 games.

Is that true?

    yes unfortunately. Sony has removed that feature from the newer consoles. so u either buy a used old one or get a brand new one while losing the PS , PS2 capabilities.

    Yes that's true.

    However, they do have much better fans and are much more efficient.
