Input on this Goal/No Goal?
Was fooling around on youtube and came across this from about a year ago...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUGc5gn4wHs
Was that call right? It's just a weird situation but I had thought since Miller touched the puck that the high stick is negated...Doesn't really matter now but it was just an interesting play.

I would say that it is a good goal. Unlike what other people think, the referee was not signaling for a high sticking penalty, but rather he was signaling to show that the puck was knocked down by a high stick which, as soon as a player from the same team as the one who knocked it out of the air touches it, results in the play being blown dead. But in this instance, it is knocked down by a high stick (Claude Giroux) and was touched right after by the glove of Ryan Miller which, like you said, should result in no whistle for the high stick, play should of continued and therefore the goal should of been a good goal.

Good Goal man. Miller played it and negated it as you said. Its only a high stick if Giroux played it with a high stick and then JVR touched it. If another player touches it, it should have been waved off.

well, this happened last night in the Penguins/Rangers game as well. it SHOULD be a goal, since the opposing player touched it, but at the same time the explanation from last night was that since the opposing player never actually had possession, its still negated because of the high stick.
it makes no sense at all.

Unfortunately not. Miller touching the puck has nothing to do with whether something is a penalty or not.

I came across that video before, as well. I thought it was a good goal, but I guess not.
