for a therapist should i chose a guy or girl?

I'd second the suggestion that you go with someone you're comfortable with, that you trust, regardless of gender.

As to meeting other people - there's something called "group therapy", where (as the name implies) you're in a group. Other than that, though, your therapist is required by law not to talk about her other patients. I've known therapists who took that so far as to refuse to acknowledge even knowing someone.

I would say go with who you think you would be more comfortable with. For this to work you have to feel you could tell them anything otherwise it will not work
