What is the minimum mass of ethylene glycol (C2H6O2) that must be dissolved in 15.1 kg water to prevent the solution from freezing at -10.0°F? (Assume ideal behavior.)

    -10.0 = 1.86 x m

    m = 5.38

    moles / 15.1 kg = 5.38 m

    moles of C2H6O2 = 15.1 x 5.38 = 81.24 mol

    mass = 81.24 mol x 62.07 g/mol = 5043 g
