Filipino beliefs? Read details...?

So I was asked today what race I was. I answered I was Thai-Filipino and he said it meant good luck or something. Then I remember a few months back a friend of mine said it means I have strong blood.

So I'm just curious what does it mean?

    Race: Asian. If you get good genes from your parents you will have good luck because you will be able to do many things well and thus get ahead in life.
