I really like eating ice when it was just water and than i put it into the freezer but doesnt freeze all the way...that my favorite! Does anyone know the cause of it and do u think its weird? i havent told my friends or bf about it but i do it in front of them! I just like doing it! It relaxes me!

Yes and no. Some people like it. However, craving 'non-food' items, is often a sign of vitamin deficiency. Most commonly Iron.

**I craved ice like NO OTHER while pregnant with both of my kids, and was later diagnosed with an iron deficiency.

I must say, this is a very unique question. Though, it's not weird at all.

I love eating the ice at the bottom of my drinks, and sometimes on hot days, I will get some out of the fridge just to chomp on.

The ice is hydrating as well as crunchy, which is a perfect combination. It is a proven fact that humans enjoy eating foods that are crunchy rather than soft, and will enjoy the food even more when it is fulfilling, which in this case, it is as it's giving you an edible drink.

There's nothing weird about it at ALL. In fact, the water is good for you, so continue to chew ice as much as you want. :)

There are drinks such as frozen soft drinks and slushies because some people enjoy their drinks to be refreshing, icy and crunchy rather than just refreshing. Ice blocks are practically just flavoured drinks frozen in to ice for people to eat. Maybe even try mixing it up a little with different flavoured waters if you enjoy it so much.

It's great for summer and great for your health! Go for it. :)

When I was in Russia I had an ice cream cone in the park - Towards the bottom was a glop of what looked like Crisco or lard. I didn't finish it but I realized what the strange textured bits were that I had already eaten. I quietly threw it away and spent the rest of the trip trying to not throw up. Didn't want to offend. I didn't eat it on purpose but I definitely ate it. That count?

Nope, it's normal. My dog loves ice cubes. I get a huge glass of them, eat some myself, throw some to him.

It's not weird. It's normal and healthy. :) I love eating ice too! If it relaxes you, don't change that because some people may think it's "weird".

Your pretty much asking if its weird to drink water, and I'm sure pretty much everyone eats ice, I know I do.

It's not weird at all! I eat it a lot, and I know all my friends do. You shouldn't be ashamed of it, it's just like eating anything else!! :)

Absolutely can be a sign of Anemia.

I would get your blood checked ASAP.

The two women I know who did this because of anemia had it severe enough to cause heart arrhythmias.

What Been There said about your teeth is also true - the ice eater I work with just had to have a tooth extracted because of the damage done right down to the roots.

My dentist tells us that eating ice creates microscopic cracks in your teeth. That this can eventually cause your teeth to break ...

which means a $1,500 crown and about 2 hours in the dentist's chair.
