What should I be doing if I want to lose specifically fat?

Right now I weigh roughly 180 (I'm a guy who's 5ft 9in tall) and I HAVE lost weight, I've been dieting and exercising for quite a while. I used to weigh 200 in March. The reason I ask this question is because I feel like I'm not doing the right workouts to lose weight and therefore not losing as much as I want. I lift weights for roughly an hour and go on the elliptical for 30 minutes (the elliptical claims I lose 500 calories). I HAVE eaten less so it's not like I stuff myself with food after a workout.

Should I focus more on running and going on the elliptical or treadmill instead of weight lifting?

Most elipticals don't actually burn that many calories, swimming and running burn the most calories. A good combination of cardio and strength training are the best
