It can apply to some couples, but the percentage of people it doesn't apply to is definitely higher than the percentage it does apply to.

not at all. no two people are the same just like no two couples or their experiences are identical. everything happens, or at least it should at a pace where both parties are ready for it, and that varies from person to person.
